WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear Reader,

Here, we are presenting you, the new Indonesian Shooting Guide 2016.

Our lm industry is growing, reaching 120 productions in 2015 at an average annual growth rate of 13.78% (CAGR) for the past 10 years. It is estimated that this number will constantly increase throughout 2016.

International lmmakers are interested, with veteran Hollywood producer Mario Kassar recently signing to become the executive producer of “Foxtrot Six”, an Indonesian sci- action movie.

Furthermore, the government is opening all businesses of the lm industry, from technical services, production, distribution, exhibition to cinema, 100 percent, for everybody.
Indonesia offers a great natural diversity, from one of the largest volcanic caldera of the world in Sumatra to one of the few snow-tipped mountains in the southern hemisphere. Two of our volcanoes, Krakatoa and Tambora, are famous, yet there are more than a hundred more in our Ring of Fire.

Our ocean boasts one of the highest degree of biodiversity. Being the largest archipelagic state in the world, Indonesia strives to optimize the potentials while maintaining the ecological balance, from white sand beach to liveaboard tourism, various conservation efforts to environment-friendly development of sheries.

All this promises inspiring settings for movie and documentary production. And, combined with the friendly nature of the hundreds of ethnic groups, great stories can be developed easily.

The Government of Indonesia has recently joined the ATA Carnet system, being the 85th state/territory to do so. Two entrepots are providing 24 Hour Services, namely the port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta and the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, next to Jakarta.

Hopefully with all these development, the Film Industry in Indonesia will be able to grow vigorously.

Hoping to welcome you in Indonesia.

Sincerely,

Prof. Dr. Muhajir E endy, Drs., M.AP
Minister of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia
